Solar & Blackout Shade Cleaning

If your blackout shades or solar shades have never been cleaned - don't worry - we can help

We clean both types of roller shades either onsite or at our shop.

Many of the shades we clean are motorized and require onsite cleaning.   Our multistep process includes a thorough Hepa vacuuming, cleaning by hand using eco-friendly solutions, and dry vapor steam to sanitize the fabric.

For those shades that can be removed, we prefer to take them back to our shop for a deep cleaning in the very long tubs we designed specifically for this purpose. Immersing the shades is the most thorough way to clean the fabric and is our method of choice whenever possible.

What can you expect from cleaning?

Shades come in different fabrics, with some being more serviceable than others. The good news is the vast majority of shades we clean look virtually new when we are done.

Solar shades may yellow over the years especially if they have been exposed to strong sun for many years. While we can totally remove the soot from the fabric we cannot turn back the hands of time!

Are you about to renovate or paint?

If your shades are manually operated, have chains to raise and lower them, please call us to remove the shades BEFORE the other contractors start their work.

By having us in first, we can take responsibility for the safe removal of the shades. The only thing we ask of you is to tell your contractor to either leave the mounting brackets attached to the wall and work around them or if they do take them down that they reinstall the brackets before we return.

Do you have solar shades installed in your windows? If you do, you probably realize that they offer many benefits including providing privacy, protecting furnishings, artwork, and floors from UV exposure and the fading associated with it, as well as reducing heating and cooling costs by limiting heat gain and loss through the windows.
