Professional Cleaning of Custom Drapery and Fabric Shades

NY Drapery Care’s only service is cleaning higher end custom drapery and fabric shades including the full line of Hunter Douglas® fabric window treatments.

We work with homeowners and interior designers

What We Do

New York Drapery Care provides a headache-free, end-to-end resource for the cleaning of custom fabric window treatments. Our service includes professional removal and reinstallation.

By handling the entire process, we can protect the window treatments during your renovations or painting, keep them out of the way of contractors, and allow projects to move forward smoothly for everyone involved. Motorized solar and blackout shades are cleaned onsite.

Who We’re For

We work with homeowners and interior designers who are ready to address cleaning their fabric window treatments. Most of our calls are prompted by a specific event— a renovation, a painting project a water issue, or simply the realization that the drapery or shades are overdue for a professional cleaning.

Many of our projects come through long-standing relationships with interior design firms, where we are brought in as part of a larger job to prepare the home for further work. Depending on the situation, we are happy to work directly with the homeowner or through the design firm.

How We’re Different

Our only specialty is the cleaning of fabric window treatments, and that focus shapes how we operate.

We do not rely on a single, standardized cleaning method or approach. Every job is evaluated individually to determine the safest and most effective way to clean it. Much of this work is performed in our dedicated workroom, allowing us to use techniques that are simply not possible in a residential setting.

Our Process

01.

Our process begins with a careful evaluation of each project to determine the safest and most appropriate approach. In most cases, window treatments are professionally removed and cleaned by hand in our workroom. All Hunter Douglas® fabric shades are removed and cleaned in our workroom, as are sheer panels and the majority of drapery.

02.

Certain window treatments, such as motorized solar shades, blackout shades, or oversized pieces, are cleaned on site when removal is impractical or unnecessary. These decisions are made on a case-by-case basis, based on the type of treatment, its condition, and what will provide the best outcome.

03.

Once cleaning is complete, all removed treatments are carefully reinstalled on their original hardware. If hardware has been removed by other contractors, it must be reinstalled prior to our return.

Testimonials

We’ve maintained a consistent five-star rating on Google for many years, based on feedback from clients whose window treatments we’ve cleaned and cared for.

These reviews reflect long-term trust, repeat work, and the kind of careful, detailed service that isn’t always visible in photos alone. We’re proud of that record and invite you to read what clients have shared about their experience working with us.
